Europe

We've travelled by plane, boat, train and car through all of Western Europe.  We have done a home stay in Austria, spent 4 weeks traveling by trains, cruised the Baltic, and the Mediterranean and done a river cruise down the Rhine from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland.  
We have 9 former exchange students who live in Germany, Italy, France, Poland, Spain and Belgium who we get to visit and live like locals. 
We've spent a month living in Zwolle, Netherlands on a houseboar, and then spent 2 1/2 months living on a cruise ship traveling from Florida to Amsterdam and then from Barcelona to Boston, stopping in Spain, Portugal, the Azores, France, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Iceland and Greenland.

I could never think of Europe as one country.  It is too many languages, customs, traditions and lifestyles.  But the shared history of the region connects it in a way that borders and geography sometimes forget.
